Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I had an affair with a married woman that resulted in the birth of a child. When the child was 7 years old we did a home dna test that said I was the father. The child is now 13 years old, but the woman's now ex husband's name is on her birth certificate and is currently still considered her father. Do I have any legal rights to the child?

Not yet. But you can file a lawsuit seeking a determination of paternity by the Court. If you are determined to be the father, the Judgment will provide custody rights, child support, and a change to the birth certificate. I have handled such cases many, many times over the last 38 years, and may be able to offer my services, or refer you to a good attorney in yor area.
