Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

My husband currently pays child support for his son, who is 18 and just graduated high school. We have a signed mediation agreement with his mother that support stops this August when he enters college and we will be paying 50% of college expenses. He will be living on campus and splitting his off time between our homes. She now states that we have to continue to pay her until he's 21 per Missouri law if he is in college. Wondering if the mediation papers are binding and do we have to pay her if he isn't living at her home? Per the mediation papers we have been writing her a personal check every month for extra child support above what my husband gets garnished from his check.

The child support statute controls. Your husband needs to consult with an attorney. I may be able to help him. I would offer him a free telephone consultation.
