Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

I am currently pregnant and don't want to give my baby up for adoption. However at this time, I don't feel myself totally prepared to raise a baby on my own and would like to know my options. I live in Missouri. I would like to get my child back as soon as I am prepared to take the responsibility fully and is in the best interest for my child.

I applaud your maturity in plammmg ahead for the child. There are several options. The father can care for the child. This would require no intervention by any Court or agency. If the parents don't later agree, you might have to file a Motion to get Custody when you feel you are ready. Your or the father's parents or siblings can care for the child. Depending upon the financial security of the folks involved, you and the father may be forced to pay child support. Failure yo provide support might make it tougher to get a Custody Order in your name later. If you enter the military, and are stationed out of state, you might get a temporary custody Order for a relative. If no relative isbavailble, and the father agres, you two may be able to grant temporary guardianship to a friend. If you don't see an option that fits your needs above, you should consult with a family law attorney in your area.

Good luck
