Legal Question in Insurance Law in Missouri

family/life insurance policy

I have alife insurance policy that's 100% paid for in my

name. I want to cash it in, however my Dad is (I believe)

the primary owner (my grandmother was the original owner,

but placed it in his name). He refuses to give me the

policy. What legal action can I take to get this policy so I

can cash it in. I will be 35 yrs old in July.

Thank you

Re: family/life insurance policy

Who "owns" the life insurance policy? If you do not know the answer to this question, then you might be able to contact the insurance company itself and request that information. If you own the policy and if the policy has a cash surrender value then you should be able to do it without any cooperation forom you Dad. I would bet, however, that the policy is owned by your Dad, and, if so, then there would be nothing you can do. Good luck!
