Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Missouri

13 and have a boyfriend who is 18

My daughter is 13 and we allow her to see this boy who is 18 with us and his parents. He can not get into trouble unless we being her parents turn him, right? the school or another parent can't do anything about it. We really like this guy and somewhat trust them, but we do not let them go out on dates. We just want to make sure this boy can not get into trouble by anyone else since we do allow this to take place. They are not having sex.

Trying to prevent teenagers from getting into trouble seems to be impossible. However, in your situation it is not apparent "how" this young man would get into trouble. If they are not having sexual contact, and he is not physically abusing her, what law is supposedly being broken by their hanging out with you?

On the other hand, are you sure they are not having sexual relations? If they are, then any adult can alert the Police or DFS, and they investigate and move the case along as they view the facts. Not only could the boy get into trouble, but you and your wife could too. That is remote, but you should know that DFS and the Prosecutor may view it as neglect or endangerment, and move yrou daughter to relatives or foster care during the investigation.

Good Luck
