having trouble getting a rental deposit refund
recently i paid a $200 portion of a security deposit on an apartment in missouri, and landlord agreed i could pay the remaining balance of the deposit along with the 1st months rent when i moved in the following 1st of the month. unfortunatly, 1 week later circumstances arose and i was unable to take the apt afterall, and although i never even moved into the apt and also nowhere on my reciept she wrote does it say that this money i paid is non refundable, the landlord is unwilling to return it to me and tells me legally she doesnt have to is this true? or do i have grounds to take her to small claims court and sue her for it?

You may seek a refund in small claims court.
