Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Missouri

dog ownership

We are a third party owner of a yellow Lab retriever. The first owner gave the dog to the 2nd owner in August. The 2nd owner gav us the dog in November. The dog is doing great at our home. The first owner who I don't know called me and told me she wants the dog back. I told her NO it had been too long of a time since she had given him away. The second owners said she had never called until Feb 22, 2007 to inquire about the dog. What can I do in the case that she tries to get My dog. Thanks

I do not practice in MO, but the old addage that possession is 9/10ths of the law should hold true in your case.
