In 1996 my husband went to an individual asking for a loan saying he would give them a 1st mortgage on the farm he also asked that I not be told about the loan. However, in 1995 there already was a judgment from another company against this property. I also knew nothing about this..(The individual loaning the money knew of the judgment) This judgment resulted in a sheriff's sale. We were given 26 acres of the farm. 1st time my name was on this deed. In all of the 19 years I knew nothing about this loan and in the almost 7 years since his death I have never been notified by the individual about this loan.I only found out when bring the abstract up to date.I asked the lender for a release on this loan because of time and their agreement that I not know about it but I have heard nothing.

You didn't ask any questions. I assume you are seeking advice as to how you should proceed in clearing the title to your property. There isn't enough information here to give you specific advice. And, some of the information you did provide seems confusing. I suggest that you consult directly with a civil or real estate practice attorney in your area. Provide all the relevant documents and answer their questions. It may turn out that you will have to file a Quiet Title action.

Good luck
