Legal Question in Workers Comp in Missouri

Need to know A.S.A.P.

I was in an accident in a work truck and was injured. I now have a ruptured disk, two bulged disk, and my knee was reinjured. I have been out of work for approx. one and a half years. I was released at maximum improvement. My back and knee still cause me a lot of pain and have limited movement in my back and knee. I was disabled but am not sure what percentage (Who makes that decision?). I have a lawyer and he told me all I can get is 20% of 400 weeks at maximum weekly compensation which came to $25,500. Is that all I am entitled to? I could have made double that if I would not have been hurt. PLEASE HELP!

I do not have enough information from you to accurately determine if the the amount your lawyer described is correct. But, it sounds like you have gotten initiated into the group of people who know the limitations of the work comp system.

You might consider this information. In addition to the money that would go to you, you probably have gotten teh medical bills for the injury paid by your employer. In teh injury you described, that could be a large figure. You said that you had been injured while in a company truck. Was there another driver at fault for teh accident? You might ask your attorney if there is anyone wlse you could pursue for damages.

Good Luck
