Dutch Father died, Have not been informed by notaris of will existance, understa

What is the responsibility of the notaris? Father passed away over one month ago. The notaris has not informed us of Fathers passing or the existance of the will. What do you adivise? We live in the USA and have little understanding of Dutch Law.

I have only a limited experience in the administration of European Wills.

I suggest that you call the Dutch counsel or Ambassador for help.

The Notary usually drafts Wills and holds them in safekeeeping. He also documents the transfer of assets.
