Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nevada

Old Debt Collection

I was served a summons on a vehicle repossessed about 6 years ago. I had never received any communication after the repo regarding the vehicle, probable sale and difference owed. This is the 1st I have heard of the car since then. With the summons there was no documentation of sale or exact dollar amount owed. My question is to the information I should be providing on the answer.

Re: Old Debt Collection

Go to the Clark County Law Library and they can give you the format. Or go to the Court house and in the documents room you can look at other cases to try to figure it out.

Your issue is whether you have a statute of limitations defense. In Nevada, they have to sue you within six years after they get the car or the sale following the repossession.

You may get attorney's fees repaid if you hire one and win.
