Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Nevada

Homestead

Who will enforce the homestead law if a bank is after me for a loan used to pay off credit card debt that is under both my x-husband and my names? We have a loan debt that is on a card that he is the primary holder of. We both own separate homes, and our marriage was divided equally. I am selling my house, and have now been informed that I have a lien against me for a loan that was used to pay off credit card debt. The bank won't discuss the loan with me since X is the primary on the loan. They will not accept a payment plan from me to pay off my portion, and they have devided the loan giving me $24,000, and him $12,000 owed. They will also not accept that he take full responsibility for the debt as he said he would. Who can I talk to, as the local homestead office does not seem to have any answers for me? Please help!
