Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Joint custody and child support

My wife and I are getting divorced. We have both agreed that joint custody would be best for the children. The problem is, she makes a bit more than I do and doesn't want to pay child support. Her attorney says she would have to pay child support. Mine says child support would not have to be paid as long as it's agreed upon by both parties. Which is right?

Re: Joint custody and child support

Both are right. Just because there is a disparity in income does not necessarily mean there will be child support. There are a number of considerations such as insurance, time spent with the children, extracurricular activity payment, clothing purchases, etc. that can even things out.
