Legal Question in Family Law in Nevada

Moving out of State

I have sole legal and physical custody of my two sons. My ex is in jail, for at least another 6 to 9 mos. After that..he has to follow a 4 step progam to receive SUPERVISED visits with my sons, which will take serveral months. I need to move to Virginia. My sister has a large house and has offered to help me get on my feet. Two years of a court battle with my ex has put me in finiancial debt. My question is...DO I HAVE TO ASK THE COURT IF I CAN LEAVE THE STATE? or can i just go?

Re: Moving out of State

You have to get permission from your ex or from the court to relocate if you have joint legal custody.
