Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Nevada

I need to know if my wife and I can break our lease agreement without penalty. Our house that we are renting recently had an attempted invasion and the intruder kicked the door open and hurt my wife. I no longer feel safe here and also worry about my wife everyday when I have to go to work and she is home alone. We live in Las Vegas and just want to be sure if we tell the management company we no longer feel safe in the house and that we want to move out.

Chances are, if it went to court, the criminal acts by third parties wouldn't excuse you breaking your lease. You would have the Court's sympathy, but I think the landlord would be likely to win.
