Does my having a durable power of attorney prevent my adult son from going the conservatorship process to handle my financial affairs

when I become incapacitated?

It won't stop him from trying if he has the money to pay a lawyer, but as long as your agent can act responsibly and is getting the job done and managing your finances, it's very unlikely he would win.
