Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Hampshire

My husband and I recently bought a house. We moved out of the apartment we had lived in for 6 years. We gave 2 Months notice to the landlord. Upon leaving, we did the standard walk though with the landlord, He pointed out several things that he felt were more then normal wear and tear. Because we lived there for so long and he never renovated or repaired anything in that time, we disagreed. Reguardless, he did tell us that he would return some portion of the deposit, but had to calculate how much and would send it along to us at our new address. It has been over 4months and we have not heard from him and we know there are laws on this matter. Please advise

The landlord had an obligation to provide you with written notice as to what amount was being withheld and to refund the balance. Here is a link that should give you a little more detail on your rights and what you may do to recover your security deposit.
