Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

What constitutes a legal agreement?

I recently sent a two paragraph agreement to another party, agreeing to pay a jointly assessed fee in exchange for being held harmless by this party. I signed it letter, then faxed it to the person. I haven't heard anything from them, though its been a month. I now have other means of allievating the problem. Would the fax copy of my signature hold up in court? Can I now, somehow negate that document or can she hold it for years, then decide to sign? If, yes, how?

Re: What constitutes a legal agreement?

It sounds like you made an offer that has not been accepted. You can withdraw the offer in the same manner. However, I would also send it by regular and certified mail return receipt to proof the withdrawal. A letter from an attorney would have more effect, but is not totally necessary. If you want help or want to discuss this further call for an appointment. Good luck
