I justg started my own little business, a home based bakery. Someone told me that I need to be careful about laws and regulations. What do I need to do to have an official home-based bakery that isn't illegal?

complicated question. you really need a lawyer's help.
there are a lot of laws to ensure that food is handled and prepared safely. you will need to comply with New Jersey state law, and town ordinances.

I would get an attorney to just help you run your business better in general. This way, you know that you are doing everything by the book.

Answer: There are many things you need to consider and properly set up with the state including forming your entity, taxes, insurance, and any licensing or registration you need to do with your local township or county.
