Legal Question in Business Law in New Jersey

Placed online order, company canceled order but did not return money

My husband placed an online order, a few days later he returned to the site to check the status. It stated that his order was canceled, they didn't bother to send him an email or call, nothing! The money is not returned, and upon checking with the bank (used debit card), the company has billed him twice for the same order. They do not answer the phone or respond to the 100+ voice mails we've left, or the emails we've sent. What do we do now? We've canceled the debit card to prevent losing even more money!

Depending upon the amount of money in question, you may have to chalk this one up as a lesson learned in dealing with not-well-known Internet vendors.

Everyone has a different pain threshold, so it's ultimately up to you to determine if it's worth spending several hundred dollars on attorneys' fees in an attempt to recover your money. Feel free to contact my office if you'd like to discuss further.
