Legal Question in Consumer Law in New Jersey

online vehicle purchase

We just purchased a vehicle through an online site. It is a historic vehicle. After seeing many photos and asking many, many questions...we felt comfortable with the purchase. we had it shipped here from another state. We did expect to have to do some work....but when it arrived we immediatly had a 'sick' feeling in our stomachs. The seller obviously misrepresented the vehicle!! Is there anything we can do??

Re: online vehicle purchase

Yes. Based on your description of the events, there is a good chance that the sale may give you a claim under the NJ Consumer Fraud Act. If so, it will not be difficult to find a lawyer to represent you because the winning plaintiff in a consumer fraud suit gets triple damages plus attorney fees. So, you should consult with a lawyer.

My firm handles matters of this type, however it may be easier for you to work with a lawyer whose office is closer to you. If I can be of further help to you, call or email.

I have read what the other attorney, John Corbett, wrote. I agree with him that if the vehicle was not what it was supposed to be, then you can sue them for breach of contract. Possibly Consumer Fraud, I am not sure.

If you would like me to assist, please call my office. I am in Hackensack. A half hour consultation will be $75.00. You can then decide how you would like to proceed.

My contact information can be obtained from the links below, just click on the Attorney Profile link. Let my secretary know you found me through LawGuru.
