Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Bankruptcy
My husband and I are considering filing for bankruptcy but are afraid that we are going to #1 lose our home and #2 ruin our sons chances for college financing. He will be going to college in 2 yrs. We have tried to make payment arrangements and keep up with the payments but by paying the credit cards we are falling behind on the mortgage. We just are stuck between a rock and a hard place. we had great credit until i got pregnant with our twins and was put on bedrest and couldnt work. Then we had the babies and everything just went haywire. Any advise would be appreciated.
