Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Credit card payment of disputed amount

I disputed a charge by a merchant with my credit card company. The reason for this was that I changed my mind after finding out the the merchant had not disclosed everything truthfully before signing the agreement. The credit card company finally resolved the dispute in favor of the merchant after initially deciding the case in my favor.

I would like to know whether I should pay the credit card company and then proceed against the merchant, or withhold the payment until I settle the matter against the merchant.

Thank you.

Re: Credit card payment of disputed amount

I suggest you first call your credit card company and discuss the matter with them. Sometimes they do this because they don't have enough information from you.
