Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

I signed a document to pay the nursing home as my mother's POA, which I did faithfully. Then my brother talked my mother into making him her POA 6 months later and he never paid the nursing home and kept her SS and pension. Now that my mother is dead the nursing home is coming after me in a lawsuit. My mother only left debts and I have no money to hire a lawyer, let alone pay the nursing home. Am I responsible? What can I do?

you have to hire a lawyer and go fight your brother, and possibly the nursing home.

if you do not, then your brother will not pay the bill, and the nursing home will get a court judgment against you for the money that they are seeking.

do not let that happen. get a lawyer. fight back.
