Legal Question in Criminal Law in New Jersey

arrest rights

Hi, Is it legal for the law enforcement of the State of New Jersey to NOT read me my Miranda rights upon arrest? And, after confronting them upon this, can they tell me they don't have to?

Also, is it justifiable for me to resist giving my employer information if I have already given them sufficent idenitification (name, ss#, address, etc)? Is that contingent upon NOT having my rights read?

Thank you for your help.

Re: arrest rights

If they are not going to ask you for information that they will later used against you, they do not have to read you any rights.

I can't see why they need to know where you work, but the rule is, you have to follow directions and complain later.

Since you were picked up for something, you should really have an attorney to help you here. Feel free to call me to discuss your case.
