This is what is called a disorderly persons offense. There is a potential fine of $1,000 and 6 months in jail. There are ways to defend, often beat these. That requires a personal discussion in more detail. Give me a call at 877\688\3879.

This is a violation of the New Jersey Criminal Code and you need to fight against this in court. If you just give up and plead guilty then you will have a criminal record. His girlfriend? Stop putting up with his crap and divorce him or get a boyfriend and let him and his friends know about it, but first, this is a dosorderly persons offense, not a felony, but you have to bite the bullet and go see an atorney. You must treat ALL criminal charges as serious
