Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

I've had 2 DUI, the 1st being 2002 and the second in 2003.If I am convicted of another before is that considered my second or 3rd?

If the 3rd occurs within ten years of the 2nd (event date to event date), it would be considered a 3rd offense. If the gap between the 2nd and 3rd is greater than ten years (event date to event date), you would be considered a 2nd offender. This is under current NJ DWI Law (as of January 27, 2013 � this may change down the road, but as of now, this is the state of the law).

I think the question you should be asking is where is the nearest AA meeting? Before you kill or injure yourself or someone else and then you are looking at prison time.
