I am not certain that I understand what you are asking, but I will answer it both ways, based on two possible meanings. If you are asking how long does the state have to file a dwi complaint it is a year. If you are asking how long the state has to bring the case to trial after the dwi complaint is filed, it all depends on all the facts of circumstances of the case.
