You compound question is somewhat contradictory.

When an action for divorce is dismissed there are no issues to resolve because the parties remain married. If you instruct your respective attorneys to dismiss the divorce case that is what they will be compelled by ethical rules to do.

Parties are always able to negoitate and settle terms without their attorneys. However, I would not recommend this course of action.

If you dismiss the action, then you are basically entering into a post nuptial agreement that will settle matters if and when you get divorced.

It is better to discuss these issues with your attorney. You need an attorney you can trust and feel confident with his/her advice.

I'm gonna echo what the other attorneys said. There is no reason to not get the attorneys involved unless you don't trust them and then at that point, its time to get a new attorney. While I don't want to quote figures, I could do the case very, very cheaply if I can hear from your husband that he agrees that he wants to settle this case too. Also, are you getting back together? At that point, there's not much to settle and you just reconcile. If not, I suggest letting the divorce go forward, its not a big drawn out event.
