Legal Question in Family Law in New Jersey

I'm in the middle of divorce mediation. My husband wants to move fast with divorce and wants joint custody. He cannot afford to move into a separate apartment due to the cost of the mortgage and rent together would be too much. I've been a stay at home mom for the past 5 years. He wants to sell the house, but I want to stay here. It's best for the kids. I have 2 kids 7 and 5 and the 5 year old is starting kindergarten in Sept. 2016 and don't want to move him halfway through his first year of "real" school to another district. Can I legally stay in my house?

You should address this with your lawyer and/or the mediator handling your case. In the end, the settlement will govern what you can do.
