h1 transfer with non profit

hi

am currently on my 3rd yr of my h1b...

i have a offer from non profit organization...

if they file my h1 now, will it reset my old previous h1, to 0 ( from the beginning)

since i heard, h1s filed by non profit does not count to quota, and my old h1 was already counted in quota..

Re: h1 transfer with non profit

It does not "reset" your previous H-1. You can simple work for the non-profit without having to be subject to the quota. Should you go back to working for a "for profit" company you will only have the 3 years remaining UNLESS you have left the country for over a year and then reenter on a fresh H-1.
