Legal Question in Employment Law in New Jersey

Hours being modified

My hours have been changed on a timesheet I filled out, when the person who changed them was not even there to witness what I was doing. On top of that, I was told my hourly rate would be more then I was paid for. What legal options do I have availible to me, and will I need a lawyer for them?

Re: Hours being modified

NJ's Wage and Hour law is very clear, you are entitled to be paid for all hours that you work.

So, if the changing of your time sheets has resulted in an underpayment of wages, you have a right to seek payment for any unpaid time.

With regards to the payment of a different rate then promised, whether you have any recourse or not is going to be fact dependent. For example, do you have an offer letter from your employer outlining your compensation package? Is there an employment contract?, etc...

As you can see, in order to give you a more definitive answer, I would need to know more facts.
