Breaking lease due to loss of job in NJ

Good Morning,

My father has lost his job company is closing he is 63yrs old, and he is looking to break the lease that he will no longer be able to afford..please advise if he can do so without paying any penelites.

It depends on the terms of the lease. I would doubt that there is a clause in the lease that would allow one to break the lease in case of loss of job. Absent that, he would be contractually obligated under the terms of the lease.
