Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Jersey

Landlord telling to remove my washer

My landlord gave me verbal permission to have a washer 4 years ago, and now recently told me I can no longer have it. Does he have a right to do this? can I sue him? I am no longer on a lease. what are my rights?

The landlord can make a reasonable request to protect his property. Does your washing machine, in any way, cause damage to the property, by leaking or vibrating excessively?
