Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New Jersey

I had signed authorization for a laproscopic hysterectomy, to have the ovaries and cervcix left in place. The only otherr paperwork I signed was that if they couldn't do the surgery laproscopic, they would do an abdominal. When I went for my post op visit today, he told me that he took my ovaries , since I was only a few years away from menopause. Now I have to be on estrogen for the rest of my life, with harsh side effects, such as, possible breast cancer, blood clots or stroke. Do I have any legal action?
