Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Courtesy Laws

A group of block residents seek information regarding existing Courtesy Laws, including, but not limited to, curfews, noise control, disruption of the peace, etc. The noise level coming from one residence on the block is unbearable. Do any laws exist to keep the peace in residential neighbors, and if so, how would we go about bringing charges against the guilty party?

Thank You.

Re: Courtesy Laws

Most municipalities have ordinances (which are the laws of the town) covering these issues. A trip to the municipal building and a visit with the clerk will answer your questions. Keep in mind that this advice is based purely on the little bit of information that you have given to me. There certainly may be other factors that would change my opinion. Further, no one can rely on advice from an attorney who has not been retained. If you have any questions after you review the ordinances, contact an attorney (either me or someone else) to discuss your matter in more detail. Only then will you be able to rely on the advice. I will be happy to assist you. However, you need to call me at 856-546-8010. Good luck! Rob
