Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey
My father told me I was inheriting from him the home I have been living in for 8 years. He passed away June 2014, I rec'd a copy of the will from my brother's attorney (youngest brother is executor) yesterday 12/27/14; it says I have been given life estate. Is this the same as inheriting it, can I sell it some day? If I die my wife will have to vacate?

A life estate does not generally include a power to sell real property. You should consult an estates lawyer of your own to protect your interest in the estate.
