Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

I am currently a full time sales agent at a real estate sales company. Can I legally open my own property management company and still work as a real estate sales agent, without the involvement of my real estate broker? I plan to manage properties owned by other people.

You should check with the Real Estate Commission, but I do not see any problem with you running a real estate managemet company while being a licensed real estate agent under a broker so long as you do not participate in any sales of the properties. If you need help setting up the legal entity or any other documents reviewed you can call to set up an appointment. Good luck with your new endeavor.

I would check your employment agreement if you have a written one. I would like to talk it over just a little, to make sure that your work as a property manager does not conflict with your work as a real estate sales agent.

Let me know if you can use the help of an attorney.
