Legal Question in Real Estate Law in New Jersey

Hi,

I off-road in my Nissan in nj on various trails. If a trail has a gate blocking the entrance it is obviously trespassing to go around a gate, but when driving on a road that turns into an unimproved rd and then a rocky trail, I sometimes see "no trespassing/hunting" signs nailed to the trees on the side of a trail. Do these signs mean that it is ok to be on the trail, just not off the trail in the woods? Or does it mean that nobody should be on the trail? Then say that there is off-shoot (possible right or left off the trail to another trail) is it legal to travel on that trail?

Thanks,

Trees do not grow IN the trial. Signs on the side of the trail mean stay off, private property, making you a trespasser.
