We have a tax lien against our house in NJ base on a judgement against my deceased mother's state income taxes. Should I pay? It is messing up my credit report.

More facts are necessary. How did her lien get against your house? Did you inherit it from her, with the lien attached? If she had equity in the house when the lien arose (e.g., she was the owner or a co-owner), it may be necessary to pay the judgment to clear title and your credit.
