Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

So I recently got into an accident on my way to the DMV where a truck almost killed me. The police were called, I was put in an ambulance, and my totaled car was towed and impounded. When I got my police report, I was hit with a whopping 4 charges.

1. Right turn on red without stopping. This is bull, but it comes down to him vs me and isn't worth fighting.

2. Unregistered car. Honestly, I forgot to renew it. I'm a new driver.

3. No license. This is bull as well, as I showed the officer my validated permit.

4. No insurance. This is a bit harder to explain. I had GEICO, but they cancelled my policy from June to October 2014 a few months prior due to my lack of license.

Since the accident I have renewed my insurance and registration. I don't care about what fines I may be charged with. I'm by no means rich, but what I'm really concerned about is the suspension of my license, or jail time. I work and go to school full time, and I have a kid on the way. Is there any advice you guys can give me?

Yes, your big issue is that you are looking at 1 year loss of DL for not having insurance. The Court will strongly advise, if not force you to get a lawyer. Call me to discuss at 732/773/2768 to discuss.
