Legal Question in Traffic Law in New Jersey

I turned into my hotel across a lane that was being worked on. I was ticketed in New jersey under 39:4-94 2B Driving over a closed road.

I am from Maine and it says COURT APPEARANCE REQUIRED

Do I really have to go back to NJ instead of being able to pay a fine from Maine ??

well, that is pretty bad. Depending on where you got the ticket, I may be able to go to court and get rid of this for you. Must appear? that is pretty odd for a minor ticket.

Give me a call, make an appointment to come see me, and let's get moving on this for you.

Please keep in mind that my response is just a general comment on your question, and not legal advice. Your question and any response does NOT create an attorney-client relationship between you and this law firm. The exact details of your situation and things that you have not mentioned in your question can completely change the answer to your question. You can not rely upon what I have written, because I do not have all of the formation that I need to advise you, I only have the very small amount of information that you put into your question. For me to give you any legal advice, I would need for you to hire me to be your lawyer, and then we would need to discuss this in detail and go over the documents.

To get legal advice that you can rely on and use, please contact me directly. I would be happy to assist you.

Call the court and see if they really require an appearance. If the answer is NO then if you want you can just pay the ticket. If they say you must appear, then you can hire a lawyer to appear on your behalf without you having to show up. I routinely represent out of state residents in traffic court by affidavit - In fact it is a large part of my business. Please contact me if you would like me to assist you on this case. Thank you.

First, I would call the Court and explain that you are from Maine, if an appearance is required then you can hire an attorney to appear in your behalf and the case can be resolved by Affidavit. You should see if you can resolve it by mail before shelling out the money for a lawyer, i would be happy to speak to you about it further, (201)-894-9498. It is not a serious ticket, but contact the Court initially to see if they can offer some guidance, good luck
