Legal Question in Disability Law in New York
I hired a dog trainer who specializes in aggressive dogs. He was working with my dog and the dog snarled and lunged, but because the trainer had the leash nothing happened. I asked him was the dog going to bite him and he said yes. A short while later in the training session the dog lunged again and bit him several times. We took him to the ER; he told me he didn't have insurance and that I needed to pay his ER bill through my homeowners insurance. He said, 'don't worry, I won't sue you, just pay the ER bill.' Can he sue me and am I liable for the bill?
