Legal Question in Administrative Law in New York

If a joint trial in NY is severed, can discovery from a severed action, not being tried, be used in the 1st trial - especially when discovery was not joined. Discovery was closed in 1st action BEFORE the two trials were Ordered to be Jointly tried.
