Legal Question in Business Law in New York

Comparison of prices

Dear Law Guru

In our search to become a better

business in NYC, we have some

question about our doing.

I writhing you to get your thoughts

about good business behavior when

it comes to marketing of our prices,

and in this context listing other

companies prices.

We have made a comparison of 2

other NYC companies with our

company. We have retrieved the

price information direct from the

other companies website or by a

specific price-quote for the same

service as we offer.

Is this good, and accepted business

behavior and is it legal to mention

other business name and there

prices in information material that

we send to clients ?

Please let us know, Thanks.

Re: Comparison of prices

Truth is your protection but the information has to be completely accurate and you should qualify it some way such as "on [date] our competitors were charging X." You also probably don't want to use their trademarks. You can always be sued whether you did something wrong or not.
