Legal Question in Business Law in New York

Delivery Laws

I am an office/customer service manager for a stand alone furniture retail store in NY. On our invoices, we estimate delivery times by the week, i.e. 6-8 weeks. Is there a legal amount of time we have past this time period to get the customer his/her merchandise when the delays are due to manufacturer delays? If so, what is that time frame?

Re: Delivery Laws

The terms of delivery that you describe are not strictly enforced unless the contract provides that "time is of the essence". Generally, delivery most be made within a reasonable period of time based on all of the circumstances and conditions at the time.
