Legal Question in Business Law in New York

International E-Commerce (Import/resale)

I am in the process of starting a new internet business that offers products from France. Business is registered in N.Y. City, and allows customers to buy French products via web-site. Products are then bought by representative in France and shipped directly to customers. I would like to find out what are the obligations regarding customs, taxation, and import regulations that I need to take care of when products are purchased by Americans. Am looking for a long-term association with someone to assist me in all legal matters.

My firm regularly handles tax and compliance issues for businesses. Why did you decide to register your business in New York? Do you have counsel in France who is advising you? What type of products will you be selling?

Contact my office my email or phone to schedule a phone consultation. Thank you.

Food products are yet another category where there is heavy regulation due to recent federal legislation. I would be happy to assist you with customs, taxation and distribution issues --you can obtain more detailed information from my website. You will see that I represented a number of French companies doing business in the United States, both online and through traditional distribution channels, and am familiar with many practical as well as legal aspects of EU firms entering the American market.
