Legal Question in Business Law in New York

patent

I have created a skin care product for dogs but haven't a clue about how to obtain a patent or begin to market the product. Lawyer's fees upfront could be a problem. Do I need an attorney to get a patent? How do I begin?

It is possible, but very difficult, to obtain a patent without representation by a qualified intellectual property attorney. You should also consider the trademark protection your product will need.
