Legal Question in Business Law in New York

purchase of a puppy

we signed a contract on 10/27/09 to purchase a puppy at he breeder home. We told the seller that my husband suffers from allergies and he seemed ok. We went home and he had an allergy attack. We immediately called the seller the next day to inform her that we did not want to go through with the purchase. Do we have the legal right to back out of contract

That depends on the contract; I'd have to see what you signed before I can advise as to how to get out of it.
