Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New York

is an obsessive admirer sexual harassment?

I have an obsessive admirer that can't take no for an answer. for more than a month he's been calling me like 10 times a day wanting me to go out with him in an obligatory manner, emailing me like crazy. I'm afraid he's going to become a stalker and the next step might be to follow me around. He's obsessive saying that I'm his when I have let him know I'm not interested to leave me alone already and he gets worse leaving me a voicemail that he wants to come to my house. I feel paranoid, if it's not a voicemail it's an email. Then he goes to places that I would go to see if I go.

what kind of harrasment is this? Is he a stalker or harrasment?

Re: is an obsessive admirer sexual harassment?

It sounds like you are being stalked and harassed. There are two things to do: 1) Do not reply to any of his calls or emails in any way; and (2) Go to the District Attorney's office in your county and file a complaint. You need to take this matter very seriously. If you are being threatened in any way, call the police immediately.
